Contempora - Casa Osti - Design Villa & Garden, Central Milan

On a private road in central Milan, Casa Osti is a 1920s villa with high ceilings, Venetian seminato floors, and a garden. Refurnished to host the design residency of Danish brand New Works, its revamped interiors pair Milanese sophistication with Nordic elegance. Pieces from their collection come alive across the floors. Casa Osti is created to be fully lived in rather than displayed: a unique city stay where high design meets the authentic warmth and comfort of a real home.

THE SPACE
Ground Floor — The Living Rooms
From a luminous glass-door entrance featuring neo-classical metalwork, one moves through the airy, interconnected spaces of the ground floor, including spacious living and dining rooms, the atelier kitchen, a guest bathroom and laundry.
- The Sitting Room — wrapped in hand-painted chinoiserie wallpaper, with an exquisite inlaid fireplace and tall windows opening onto the garden. A velvet New Works sofa to stretch out on, with a Smart TV.
- The Dining Room — comfortably seats eight at a polished marble table, with a fireplace, Venetian stucco walls, and sliding doors that lead into the kitchen.
- The Atelier Kitchen — designed for those who love to cook, fully equipped with a six-burner gas hob, oven, microwave, large fridge-freezer, espresso machine, electric kettle, and toaster.
- The lush garden — its outdoor table set beneath a majestic magnolia tree, a peaceful retreat from the bustle of the city.


First Floor — The Sanctuary
Three elegant double bedrooms with parquet floors, served by a recently renovated bathroom in Giotto blue (shower, sink, toilet, bidet).
- The Toile Room — the lightest of the three, dressed in pastel pink Toile de Jouy wallpaper, opens onto a private balcony overlooking the garden.
- The Blue Room — wrapped in cream and blue floral wallpaper, with generous built-in wardrobes that make it ideal for a longer stay. A study with a sofa bed connects, useful for an extra guest or a quiet hideaway in which to read.
- The Garden Room — its large floral motifs framed by windows that look directly into the magnolia tree.

Top Floor — Under the Eaves
An atmospheric piano landing leads to three attic rooms and a marble-clad bathroom featuring a deep bathtub.
- The Attic Hideaway — the largest of the three, a romantic double room enhanced by an English-style marble fireplace and views over the garden.
- The Writer's Rooms — two charming twin-bed rooms in soft, hand-printed floral wallpapers, joined by a connecting balcony.

Lower Level
The laundry room offers a washing machine, drying rack, iron, and ironing board — the practical heart of a longer stay.

THE LOCATION
Casa Osti sits on a private residential lane in a quiet, leafy pocket of central Milan, where neighbouring villas share the same garden-set rhythm. Three metro stations are within a short walk (De Angeli, Amendola, Buonarroti), connecting you to the Duomo in roughly fifteen minutes. Corso Vercelli and Via Marghera, both five minutes on foot, bustle with trattorie, gelaterie, wine bars, and the hum of inner-city life in Milan. The City Life shopping district, with its Hadid and Libeskind towers, is a ten-minute walk; Fiera Milano City and the design districts are closer still. During Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone, the house sits within walking distance of several of the major design districts. Supermarkets, pharmacies, and a daily market are all within a three-block radius.
